Cave of NIAUX

The cave of Niaux is one of the most famous Upper Palaeolithic caves in Europe. It has delivered numerous Magdalenian parietal representations of exemplary quality. The great prehistorian Henri Breuil counted it among the “six giants of prehistory”. It remains one of the few decorated caves still open to the public. The workshops produced two replicas: Panel IV of the black room and the panel of signs, presented in a scenography installed at the Parque de la prehistoria in Teverga (Spain) in 2007.
